4 Things You Need to Know About Direct Selling
Four Important Points Related to Credit-extension Type of Direct Selling
1. Your Understanding About Direct Selling Business
Never join with any direct-selling business without a thorough knowledge of the price you need to pay to succeed. Understand first its nuts and bolts. Don't ever explore into an unfamiliar territory without first taking some survival lessons.
2. Your Own Capability
Direct-selling, I mean the credit-extension kind, is a tough job. It requires an attitude you cannot find among the masses of people: the positive attitude of issuing unfunded checks--daily! If you have money, don't go into credit-extension type of a direct-selling business, unless you're the company owner. For it is all about paying the bank daily of a business transaction that's uncertain, having only 60% payment-by-the-agents ratio. But "why is this industry flourishing," you may ask? The answer is easy: there are people who are not rich but are bigger (in terms of determination and resiliency) than the odds in this business.
3. Your Partner Company
Your choice of an enterprise partner is crucial. If the traditional direct sales (the 30-day credit-extension type) is not in your blood or sphere of experience, then go into the recruitment-focused MLM such as Atomy, GNLD, Amway, Kyani, Zija, among others. Otherwise, go into Natasha, Marikina Exchange (MSE), Avon, Tupperware Brands, Personal Collection (PC) or Beautiful Horizon Inc. (if you're in the Philippines)
4. Your Sustainability
By sustainability, I mean, in terms of passion for direct selling. If you're only half-convinced about the direct-selling opportunity, then go somewhere else. Direct-selling "kills" every aspirant in this trade who are not tougher than its exacting routines.
Not Applicable to Most MLM.
The above four points about direct selling are representing only the credit-extension type. An example of this model is Avon, Natasha, Tupperware Brands, MSE, Sundance, F/X, Beautiful Horizon, etc.
You need only to know the marketing plan and the products in real MLM. The companies in this wing of direct sales are Atomy, Forever Living, GNLD, Amway, Usana, Zija, Kyani, and Herbalife--among other Mormon- and non-Mormon created companies (most food supplement MLM companies are from Utah). For MLM members are earning commissions like regular sales agents; whereas, in the credit-extension type of direct selling (such as Natasha, etc.), the dealer is more of a businessman than a sales agent. For instance, an Avon or Natasha dealer may have 50 branches and a hundred employees. This scenario is not possible with pure MLM.
[Caveat: No one can be a real dollar millionaire out of the traditional credit-extension direct selling model. The good news is that in this platform recruits from all walks of life are more available than in MLM. If you want a long-lasting and rock-solid business, however, then the best MLM platform is the right place for you. Try to read about the Atomy Business Opportunity!]
